VT2 Studios Teams with USAID to Promote Bush Initiative

(HOUSTON ‚ May 30, 2006) ‚ VT2 Studios has been awarded a prestigious project from the United States Agency for International Development in Washington, DC: creating a mini-documentary on its worldwide "Volunteers for Prosperity" program.

"VfP" was formed in 2003 by executive order from President George W. Bush in an effort to encourage American volunteerism in places that desperately need help. "This generation of citizens will show the world the energy and enthusiasm of the U.S.," said the President in announcing its creation.

Producer Dave Henry is in the midst of journeying from Haiti to Ethiopia to Mali to film American volunteers in those poverty-stricken nations. The piece will feature stories about their work in small business development, technology and health care.

"Unfortunately, here in America USAID's programs are well-kept secrets," says Henry, "but we're trying to change that. The agency is the U.S. at its very best, and they are extraordinarily well-respected in the third world."

Henry has previously worked with USAID on projects in Romania and the former Soviet Republic of Georgia. In Romania, he profiled Leslie Hawke, mother of actor Ethan Hawke. In Georgia, the featured project was that nation's very first pediatric emergency room.

VT2 Studios began in 1991 as a graphics & post-production boutique. Today, the 31,000-square-foot media and communications hub has a team 40 talented industry professionals with numerous accolades. VT2 assisted CBS Sports in the production of Houston's Super Bowl, and most recently hosted Oprah Winfrey's national coverage of the Katrina disaster. The company produces award-winning work while still remaining affordable - a fact made possible by the company's one-stop-shop approach to creative communications. The team at VT2 maintains an undisputed reputation for quality regional and national creative work and continues to excel as a leader in creating and designing media content and communication solutions for an international base of clients.
